Can you write my statement completely from scratch?
Can you write my statement completely from scratch?
No. Our approach is highly collaborative and based entirely on the ideas you share and the way you want to express yourself throughout the application.
What if I am not satisfied with my PS and/or CV at the end of the 5-week dedicated work period?
What if I am not satisfied with my PS and/or CV at the end of the 5-week dedicated work period?
The Class Act Promise means unlimited revisions until you’re completely satisfied and within the dedicated 5-week work period. That timeframe gives you plenty of opportunity to refine your documents while collaborating with your consultant. That said, if the 5-week period is ending and you still have concerns about a document, let your consultant know right away. Be specific about what’s not working or what changes you’d like to see so they can help you get it where it needs to be.
How can you help with my MSPE?
How can you help with my MSPE?
The MSPE (Medical School Performance Evaluation) provides insight into your performance during core clinical rotations. It also shares details about your medical school’s curriculum and evaluation standards. While this document was meant to be completed by your medical school, many IMGs are tasked with drafting the MSPE themselves. The alternative is a “blank neutral placeholder” document that can result in your application being filtered out during programs’ initial review process.
Class Act has helped 100+ applicants create strong MSPEs that conform to AAMC standards and help strengthen their application. We are well-versed in each section of the MSPE and will help you develop it from beginning to end.
After our work together is complete, you’ll provide the document to your school for review, approval, and signature.
What is the process for creating an LoR?
What is the process for creating an LoR?
Many residency applicants are asked by preceptors to draft their own Letters of Recommendation. This is a daunting process that Class Act helps simplify. You’ll share the details of your clinical experience, indicating the specific strengths you demonstrated and highlighting concrete examples. From there, we will craft a professional letter that you will be proud to share with your preceptor.
What are your success/match rates?
What are your success/match rates?
We understand that many applicants are curious about match success rates when considering a service like ours. However, we do not publish such rates for several reasons:
- Matching is influenced by numerous factors beyond our control, such as interview performance, practicality of program application choices, number of programs applied to, and the quality of letters of interest and intent.
- It’s not possible for us to obtain comprehensive data from all clients, even though we strive to build strong relationships and proactively encourage everyone to share their outcomes.
- Publishing match success rates is misleading. Any service claiming exceptionally high rates is likely to be selective about their clientele or their data reporting.
As a final note, Class Act provides Elite Consulting clients with complimentary assistance updating their personal statements and ERAS/CAS applications during the subsequent match cycle if not matched…as this situation is rare. This reflects our confidence in the services offered when clients take advantage of the full scope of our assistance.
AI-Specific FAQs
Do you use AI to write or edit your work?
Do you use AI to write or edit your work?
We use AI as a tool, much like spell check or Grammarly. All of our writing work, the strategy, storytelling, and nuanced edits, is done by hand…a human hand! AI is just one tool in our toolbox, never the driving force behind the final product.
- Editing & Optimization: We may use AI for structural refinement, clarity checks, and ensuring consistency in grammar and phrasing—but never to generate a draft.
- Customization & Adaptation: We use AI to improve readability and flow, ensuring that each applicant’s voice remains intact while optimizing the impact of their writing.
At Class Act, we believe that AI should support the human creative process, not replace it. Our expertise lies in understanding each applicant’s unique story and helping them craft materials that truly represent their strengths, aspirations, and individuality.
Our process ensures that your story is genuine, polished, and uniquely yours.
Is using AI a NRMP violation?
Is using AI a NRMP violation?
No. This is the NRMP’s official statement on AI:
“The NRMP has not taken any stance on the use of AI-generated content.”
Also see this PubMed article from 2024, which notes “[W]e believe that medical students should not be prohibited from using GAI such as ChatGPT to improve their [residency] applications. At a time when artificial intelligence is poised to streamline a plethora of tasks within medicine, selectively barring its use for residency applications seems out of step with contemporary realities.”
The AAMC has also spoken about using AI within the context of applying to residency: “The use of AI tools is acceptable for brainstorming, proofreading, or editing the personal statement, but the final submission should represent your own work.”
Can I use AI to complete my personal statement and CV development documents?
Can I use AI to complete my personal statement and CV development documents?
No, you should not use AI to complete any of your development materials for the PS or CV.
Our goal is to help applicants present an authentic, compelling, and personal application that truly reflects who they are. When applicants use AI-generated content for their personal statements, CV descriptions, or other materials, it creates several challenges:
- Loss of Authenticity: AI-written content often lacks the applicant’s unique perspective, making it harder for us to refine and enhance their true voice.
- Missed Insights: The best application materials come from deep self-reflection. AI-generated responses often rely on generic phrasing and miss the nuanced details that make an applicant stand out.
- Program Directors Can Tell: Admissions committees read thousands of applications every year. Generic, AI-influenced writing can come across as impersonal, overly polished, or even unnatural, which may raise concerns about authenticity.
For these reasons, we ask all applicants to submit their own, original thoughts when working with us. Our role is to help shape and refine their ideas—not to rework AI-generated content.
Are AI detectors accurate?
Are AI detectors accurate?
Sometimes, but not in any meaningful or reliable way. One study on AI-generated text detection found “serious limitations of the state-of-the-art AI-generated text detection tools and their unsuitability for use as evidence of academic misconduct. Our findings do not confirm the claims presented by the systems. They too often present false positives and false negatives.”
Another study reached similar conclusions, further highlighting the unreliability of AI detectors.
